Wind Energy
Wind energy is one of the most dynamically developing renewable energy sectors. Investment projects in energy security have been recognized as a global economic priority in view of increasing energy prices and problems with the supply of energy sources. As a result of environmental protection, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as well as Poland's commitments relating to renewable energy, we have observed intensive development of wind power plants' network. According to a recent report by the Polish Association of Wind Energy, the percentage share of wind power plants will be increasing fast reaching 17% in 2020 and almost 29% in 2030.
PEP S.A. has been operating on the basis of modern technologies harvesting wind as a renewable energy source. Developing wind energy sector, PEP S.A.:
- develops and sells wind farms
- construction and operation of wind farms
The first 22MW wind farm was commissioned in January, 2007 and is located in Gnieżdżewo near Puck. Two more wind farms are scheduled to start operating in 2011, i.e., the Łukaszów wind farm (34MW) and the Modlikowice wind farm (24MW).
2012 PEP plans do start thr construction of another two wind farms with the total capacity of 80MW
